What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser when you visit it. They help the site work properly, remember your choices or measure how it is used. This policy also covers similar technologies, such as browser local storage and tracking pixels.
Cookies can be first-party (set by smarketinglab.eu) or third-party (set by the companies whose services we use, such as Google or Meta). By duration, they can be session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (kept until they expire or you delete them).
Legal basis
Cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work are used without consent, under Article 4(6) of Romanian Law no. 506/2004 on the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector, which implements the EU ePrivacy Directive. All other cookies, for statistics and marketing, are activated only after you give your consent, under Article 4(5) of the same law and Article 6(1)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it.
How consent works on this site
- On your first visit we show a banner with three options: accept all, reject all, or choose the categories you allow. Rejecting is as easy as accepting.
- Until you choose, the site does not load Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, the Meta pixel or any other measurement or advertising tool.
- The Google Maps map and YouTube videos load only if you have accepted marketing cookies. Until then, a notice is shown in their place, from which you can load them with your consent.
- YouTube videos use privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and are first shown as a preview image; the player loads only when you press play.
- Your choice is kept for 6 months in the
mcc_consentcookie. After that period, or if we change the cookies we asked your consent for, we will ask you again. - To be able to prove the consent we received, we record your choice as a random identifier, the date, the accepted categories, the policy version and the page where you made the choice. We do not record your IP address or any other information that directly identifies you. We keep these records for 12 months.

Transfers outside the European Union
Google LLC, Meta Platforms, Inc. and Microsoft Corporation may process data in the United States. These companies are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, recognised by the European Commission in its adequacy decision of 10 July 2023, so the transfer benefits from appropriate safeguards. In addition, these providers use the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
How to change or withdraw your consent
You can change your choice at any time from , a link also available in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Your rights
To the extent that personal data is processed through cookies, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
